Less-Than Truckload (LTL)

LTL or “Less Than Truckload” is perfect option when your cargos is not quite enough to cover a full truckload. LTL shipping offers the same type of shipping methods as full truckload, but means that your cargo is consolidated with freight from another shipper. With its various classifications and pricing, LTL shipping can be a challenge. ABCDEX Cargo has experience and carrier network strength to handle virtually any LTL shipment.

Although shipping LTL may be the best option for your freight, there are a few things you should consider before finalizing your shipping method:

Transit times with LTL are not as accurate due to the frequent loading, unloading and sometimes transferring of goods to other trailers.

Delays can also happen while the shipper is trying to find another LTL shipment with the perfect amount of space left over to consolidate your freight.

Your cargo is at higher risk for damage with LTL because it is transported with other freight and moved around often during transport.

Though LTL can be more cost effective, the weight of your freight can negate that and could actually cause your cost to rise.
